Staff and LMS previously submitted to the Board six (6) projects to be submitted to FEMA for funding. The BCC must select two commissioners and one citizen member to serve on the VAB. (See attached memorandum) | | | 18. | Derelict Vessel Removal Grant Application to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) | | | | Approval to apply for the 2017-2018 Derelict Vessel Removal Grant with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC). The Clay County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) has identified three (3) vessels that are considered derelict and in need of removal. Removal of these vessels will enhance the environment and boater safety. The application deadline is August 8, 2018 and the grant requires a 25% cash match. The estimated cost of the project is $13,120.00; the County's match is $3,280.00. Staff proposes utilizing the Florida Boating Improvement funds for the required match. Further approval is requested to delegate authority to the County Manager to apply and administer the grant project on behalf of the Board.
