By the adoption of Ordinance No. 93-19, as amended, (the Ordinance), the Board established the Clay County Solid Waste Disposal Municipal Service Benefit Unit (the MSBU) authorizing the imposition of solid waste disposal assessments against certain residential property located therein. Prior to the commencement of each fiscal year the Board adopts a resolution establishing the rate of assessment for each dwelling unit subject to the assessment for said year, and approves and adopts the assessment roll for said year identifying each parcel of real property subject to the assessment and the total assessment levied thereon (the Annual Rate Resolution).
Each year new parcels of real property become subject to the assessment and must be added to the assessment roll. A public hearing has been scheduled for the Board’s August 23, 2022, meeting (the Public Hearing), at which affected and interested parties may be heard regarding the Board’s consideration of the proposed Annual Rate Resolution.
Following the Public Hearing, the Board may take action to approve the proposed Annual Rate Resolution, which would establish the rate of assessment for each dwelling unit subject to the assessment for the Fiscal Year commencing October 1, 2022, at $72.00. This rate is identical to the rate in effect for the current fiscal year. Approval of the Annual Rate Resolution will also serve as the adoption of the assessment roll.
