Approval to accept staff's Evaluation for RFP No. 21/22-72, Mentoring and Tutoring Services for the Sheriff's Work Ethics and Training (SWEAT) Program and award the RFP to Bright Minds Youth Development, Inc.  Approval will be effective after the 72 hour period for protest has expired.

A Committee consisting of Community Services Manager, Volunteer Coordinator, and Grants Manager performed the evaluation.

The purpose of this RFP was to solicit qualified firms capable of providing of mentoring and tutoring services for youth placed in the SWEAT Program.  The Program is funded by DJJ.  Youthful Offenders are placed in the program and assigned SWEAT event services along with mentoring and tutoring services. Bright Minds currently provide these services to the County. 

Focus Care, Inc. scored low because their proposal only included online tutoring and excluded mentoring services. The County's contract with DJJ does not allow online tutoring. 

The initial contract shall be for a term of three (3) years from the date of the Boards approval.

The RFP was sent to 21 vendors with 2 responses.
