The proposed policy encourages the FDOT to make widening of SR 16 between Green Cove Springs and the new FCX Interchange a top priority.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Once the S.R. 16 interchange with the First Coast Expressway is completed and operational, S.R. 16 is expected to need widening to four-lanes.  When determining funding for projects to be included in their plans, FDOT looks to the guidance of the local government's comprehensive plans for input.
