SUBJECT: Approval of Budget Resolution in the total amount of $48,599.00 to create budgets for the 2018 and 2019 State Criminal Alien Assistance Program (SCAAP) Grants. Funds are to be used for correctional purposes by the Detention Office. BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

SCAAP Grant funding is to be used by the Detention Office for the following:

  1. Implement a new inmate trading system.
  2. Initial startup costs for the equipment, hardware and software for an in-house offender tracking/monitoring GPS program.
  3. Additional training for gang investigators.
  4. Send an additional instructor to the "train the trainer" for the less lethal transport belt used for violent offenders during court proceedings.
