AGENDA ITEM TYPE:

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

In accordance with Section 163.3191, F.S. “at least once every 7 years, each local government shall evaluate its comprehensive plan to determine if plan amendments are necessary to reflect changes in state requirements in this part since the last update of the comprehensive plan.”  This statute further encourages local governments “to comprehensively evaluate and, as necessary, update comprehensive plans to reflect changes in local conditions”.

In addition to addressing statutory changes, the purpose of the Evaluation and Appraisal Report (EAR) is to assess how well the Comprehensive Plan is serving the County by determining any deficiencies in the Plan and recommending changes to the Goals, Objectives or Policies, and identifying major issues affecting the County that should be addressed by revisions to the Plan.

A series of community workshops will be held to allow members of the community the opportunity to identify and discuss the major issues affecting the County.  A schedule of the workshops is provided below.   All workshops will begin at 6:00 p.m.
